The Long Lake Zinc Mine (Sometimes called the Richardson Mine) started in 1897 with a number of mining operations in the early and mid 1900s focusing on zinc and lead ores.

Minerals that can be found in the mine dumps (as shown above) are: calcite, chalcopyrite, diopside, galena, hydrozincite, molybdenite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, quartz, sphalerite (Italics: fluorescent minerals).

Parking is very close to the site.

See our Blog Article for tools and what to bring: Gearing Up: Must-Have Tools for the Aspiring Rockhound.

More news will be provided in the coming weeks.

We are discussing the price with the owner. Once we know, members will be able to sign up.
