Come to our monthly meetings which are held every second Thursday each month. Bring your rocks and minerals to have experts identify or exchange for other minerals plus attend fascinating presentations. Presentations are in English but bilingual club members would be happy to translate questions.

Amherst Island Fossil Field Trip

Amherst Island is located just south of Kingston. We will meet at the Ferry at 10:00 am. After a short ferry ride at 10:30 am, we plan to visit two fossil locations: 11:00 am at Topsy Farms and in the afternoon at the far south-east end of island near the bird sanctuary.

Enjoy the unique Irish dry stone walls along the drive.

Fossils include crinoids, brachiopods, bryozoan, snails, corals, trilobites about 400 million years old. It is a short walk from parking areas.

Free The ferry fee is $10.00 for most vehicles.
