Speaker: Quintin Wight, Micromounter and Author, RCAF (Retired)
Topic: The Pleasures of Micromounting
Micromounting is the facet of mineral collecting dealing with the collection, mounting, and study of microscopic minerals under the microscope. Under the microscope these micro-minerals reveal an often incredibly beautiful miniature world of crystals in delicate forms that surpass anything possible in larger samples.
Quintin is one of the world’s top experts in this field, not only wrote the literal book on the subject, “The Complete Book of Micromounting”, he writes the annual review of happenings in this field for Rocks and Minerals magazine.

Location and Directions: Canadian Museum of Nature, 240 McLeod St., Ottawa. Enter through the main entrance and turn left, go to the end of the hall past the cafeteria.
